aka The Silence Becomes The Sound
These works stem from an artists residency (awarded by The Sirius Foundation and The Arts Council of Ireland) spent at Roches Point Lighthouse, which in itself stems from the artist finding a baby grand piano abandoned in a skip at Roches Point.
From this he took the strings and form this he fabricated his own instrument.
The residency enabled the artist to return to the Artists Residence at Roches Point and there record the new instrument thus completing the conceptual cycle. Whilst developing the recordings the artist created a series of drawings/paintings and video works to accompany the soundworks. It forms part of an ongoing series entitled 'The Lighthouse Project'.
